Member Services: Membership Benefits

Along with joining other employers to have Oregon business-related concerns and issues addressed in the legislature, AOI members reap enormous benefits, including the following:

Public Policy Participation
Participate in any of AOI’s eight public policy councils by completing the public policy sign-up form and return it to AOI at your convenience. Participation does not mean that you need to attend lengthy out of town meetings—you can participate at your desk with quick, to the point e-mail communications on issues that affect your business from AOI’s lobbyists and legislative action team.

News Releases, Special Reports and Opinion Pieces
Receive advance copies of news releases, special reports and opinion pieces provided by AOI to Oregon and regional media. Knowing what’s coming is half the battle—and you’ll be ready for the other half with the knowledge and information you get in the releases, reports and opinion pieces.

AOI Legislative Review
The AOI Legislative Review is a thorough, post-session review of all business-related legislation in all major public policy areas, a notification of when new laws become effective, voting records on business issues for all 90 legislators and a full analysis of Oregon business' successes and failures during the previous legislative session.

AOI Center for Citizen Leadership
  • Builds a dynamic private enterprise-based constituency
  • Promotes progressive public policy solutions through education, citizen action, and a coalition of allied partners to recruit and elect qualified candidates for public office
  • Advances new concepts for Oregon's business leadership
Citizen empowerment makes a strong community, and a strong community is good for everyone, including businesses. The men and women who work in private businesses represent the broadest cross-section of Oregonians statewide. The owners, managers and employees working in the private sector form the backbone of the economy, the schools and the community. AOI holds that communities prosper when their businesses prosper.

AOI Foundation
The AOI Research & Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable corporation established for two primary purposes:
  • To analyze and communicate information vital to the business community; and
  • To measure Oregon’s economic competitiveness.
The need to research and develop credible information about threats to Oregon’s business community is more vital than ever as economic prosperity requires constant vigilance. AOI constantly measures the relative advance or decline of Oregon businesses’ economic competitiveness and its tie to quality of life in the state.

Yearly Conferences
AOI conducts annual conferences, including the Annual Report to the Membership and the Northwest Environmental Conference.
